this is my favourite poem from "Void Decks And Other Places" by Colin Cheong. came across this poem when i was doing my lit assignment. i find it quite true n it reminds me of pn:)
it's a book with nice poems. easily understood. evryone shld read it. haha..
there it goes..
Maybe is a Dirty Word
You may be right
to not decide
to withhold your 'yes'
and save your 'no'
keeping options open
keeping love in hope
keeping guilt in doubt
keeping commitment at arm's length
but still within your grasp.
Your hand is soft
your head is hard
your heart in binary beats
of yes no yes no yes no
hope and doubt and hope and doubt.
Fear and anger
patience worn
no promise made
no promise broken
a power word that
neither stops nor goes
but moves grown men to tears.
You may be right
I may be wrong
and maybe I should go
but your hand is soft and keeps me holding on.
